Edit a PDF
Add text, whiteout, highlights, images, and a drawn signature on top of the pages of a PDF. The tool does not change the text that is already in the file; it puts new content over it. Everything runs in your browser.
How it works

Drop a PDF into the box, or click to choose it. Pick a page in the strip on the left.

Choose a tool in the toolbar. Click the page to add a text box, drag to draw a whiteout or a highlight, add an image, or draw with the pen. Drag an item to move it, pull its corner to resize it, and press Delete to remove it.

Click Save PDF. The edited file downloads at once.

Frequently asked questions
You can put new content on top of any page: text boxes, white rectangles (whiteout), yellow highlights, images (PNG or JPG), and freehand lines drawn with the mouse or a finger. You can move, resize, and delete each item before you save. The original page content stays under it.
No. This tool does not edit the existing text. It adds new content over the page. To replace a word or a number, draw a whiteout rectangle over it and add a text box on top. The old text is covered on screen and on paper, but it stays in the file, so a program that copies text from the PDF can still find it.
Choose the Draw tool and draw your signature on the page with the mouse, a pen, or your finger. Or choose Image and upload a photo of your signature as a PNG or JPG. Move the signature to the correct place, resize it, and click Save PDF. The Sign PDF page starts with the Draw tool selected.
No. The file is opened by JavaScript on your own device. The edits are drawn into the file with the open-source pdf-lib library in your browser. Nothing is sent to us. You can turn off your internet connection after the page loads and the tool still works.
Helvetica, Times, and Courier. These are the standard PDF fonts, so the file stays small and every PDF viewer shows them without an embedded font file. You can set the size and the color of each text box.
The standard PDF fonts contain the Latin characters of Western European languages (the WinAnsi set). A character outside that set, such as a Chinese character, an emoji, or some symbols, cannot be encoded, so the tool writes a question mark in its place. Type the text with characters from the Latin alphabet, or add it as an image.
No. There is no page limit, no file count limit, and no daily quota. The only limit is the memory of your device. Files above 100 MB show a warning, but they still work on most computers.
